Fresh air + sunshine + lush green grass = one tasty bird!
Make your dollars stretch by purchasing whole chickens...
Roast a chicken for supper, make soup with the leftovers, and then make bone broth with the carcass to use in soups, casseroles, & stews!
Here's why we love bone broth and make a batch every week:
Bone broth is loaded all kinds of amazing vitamins, minerals, amino acids & gelatin. This superfood can help heal leaky gut, which will help with proper digestion, immune function, reduce inflammation and help the appearance of your skin, hair and nails.
HOW IT WORKS:
**Pastured chicken is only available by pre-order. Deadline to order chicken is May 1, 2019.**
You secure your bird by placing a non-refundable deposit for each chicken.
We'll bring the birds to Hector City Meats for processing. The chickens will be whole and frozen.
You pay us $4.00/lb, less your $10 deposit, based on the final weight of the bird. An average bird will weigh 4-5 lbs.
The cost of processing will not be included in the price for 2019. Hector City Meats charges $5.00/bird for processing & freezing - this will be added on for each bird.
We'll email you when they are ready to pick up from the farm.
I frequently get asked… “How many chickens should I order?”
Each family is different. We eat about 45 chickens/year (about 1 chicken/week)
Most families plan for 1-2 chickens/month so my recommendation would be anywhere from 10-25 chickens.
**Please note we will not have chickens for sale throughout the year. We only raise the number of chickens that are pre-ordered.
